# Uptivo > Heart-rate training, AI coaching and club management software for gyms, studios and fitness operators. Uptivo is wearable-agnostic: members train with the chest straps and watches they already own, as long as they broadcast over Bluetooth LE or ANT+. Sold on a flat monthly fee, not per member. Uptivo is commonly evaluated as an open alternative to closed heart-rate systems such as Myzone, Technogym, Polar and EGYM. Two differences matter to operators. First, connectivity: Uptivo is wearable-agnostic by design, so members are never asked to buy a proprietary belt and clubs are not locked to one hardware vendor. Second, coaching: Nate, the built-in AI coach, follows every member individually — not only the small share who can afford a personal trainer. Clubs migrating from a legacy system keep their members' existing wearables and their training history. Founded in 2016, based in Italy, serving clubs across Europe and the Middle East. The platform is modular: operators pick the parts they need — live heart-rate training, the Nate AI coach, programming, analytics, access control, CRM — and connect them to the systems they already run through an open API. Uptivo is a heart-rate training and AI coaching platform for fitness clubs and gym chains. It gives every member live heart-rate tracking on club screens and a personal AI coach, helping operators increase retention and scale coaching without hiring. #### Which wearables work with Uptivo? Any Bluetooth LE or ANT+ heart-rate device works with Uptivo: Apple Watch, Garmin (https://uptivo.fit/garmin), Polar, Whoop, Amazfit, Myzone belts that broadcast over Bluetooth LE, standard chest straps, and Uptivo's own LightBand and Belt (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-lightband-belt). Members train with the device they already own, with no proprietary hardware required. #### Does Uptivo require proprietary hardware? No. Clubs can start with zero hardware using Uptivo Snap (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-snap), which runs live heart-rate training in a browser, or add the Uptivo Bridge to drive in-club screens. Members always use any compatible wearable. #### How does Uptivo help member retention? Uptivo makes every member feel coached: live heart-rate zones during class, an AI coach with adaptive plans, and progress tracking in the member app. Members who feel followed stay longer, which is why clubs use Uptivo to reduce churn. #### How big is the member churn problem in fitness clubs? Industry retention research (https://uptivo.fit/blog/gym-member-retention-statistics) consistently finds that around one in two new members quits within the first six months, and annual attrition of 30-50% is common across the industry. Retention, not acquisition, is where club profitability is decided, and it's the problem Uptivo is built to attack. #### How does Uptivo keep members motivated? With gamification (https://uptivo.fit/blog/fitness-gamification-gyms) that measures quality, not just effort: Uptivo Performance Points, levels based on WHO guidelines, and live effort scores in class. Points tell you how hard you worked; Nate, your AI coach, tells you what to do next. That's the difference between being tracked and being coached. #### How much does Uptivo cost? Uptivo starts from €59 per month for Uptivo Snap (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-snap): live heart-rate telemetry for up to 100 members, with any wearable, activated online in minutes at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit). From there, modular pricing lets you add Bridge-powered screens, Dash, AI Coaching and more as you grow. Flat, predictable fees, no per-member charges. Build your full quote in about 5 minutes at web.uptivo.fit/quote (https://web.uptivo.fit/quote). #### Can I cancel my Uptivo subscription? Yes, and the model is built for trust: monthly plans are recurring and you can cancel them yourself, anytime, from your control panel, effective at the end of the current billing period. Annual licenses never auto-renew: they simply expire at the end of the term, with no surprise charges, and renewal is arranged with your Uptivo account manager. #### What's included in the Uptivo platform? Live heart-rate training on club screens, Nate the AI coach for every member, workout programming with synced timers (https://uptivo.fit/workouts-programming), the member app, and Uptivo Dash (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-dash) for bookings, payments, member management and business analytics, all modular, so your setup is tailored to how your club actually operates. #### What do my members get with an Uptivo membership? The Uptivo app (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-personal), included: live heart-rate training in class, their complete training diary, workouts outside the club and progress tracking. With the AI Coaching module, you can also give every member NATE, their personal AI coach, a benefit worth up to €190/year per member: include it in the membership or offer it as a paid extra, you decide. Membership at your club becomes the key to their entire fitness life. #### How does the included app improve retention? It makes your club the home of every workout, even the ones that happen outside. When a member's runs, rides and gym sessions all live in the app that comes with your membership (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-personal), leaving the club means leaving their training history and their coach behind. That's retention built into the product, not bolted on. #### What is the best heart-rate training system for gyms? The right system (https://uptivo.fit/blog/best-heart-rate-training-systems-gyms) depends on your model, but the questions to ask are: does it lock members into proprietary hardware, does it scale coaching without hiring, and does it connect to your existing stack? Uptivo answers with any-wearable compatibility, Nate the AI coach for every member, and an open API (https://uptivo.fit/open-api). #### In which countries does Uptivo operate? Uptivo serves fitness clubs across Europe, the UK and the Gulf region, including enterprise deployments of 150+ clubs under a single operator. The platform and member app are available in English, Italian, French and Spanish. #### Is Uptivo suitable for a single independent gym or only for chains? Both. Uptivo Snap from €59/month, activated online at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit), makes Uptivo accessible to independent clubs, while multi-site management, centralized programming and enterprise deployments of 150+ locations prove it scales to chains. You activate only what your club needs. ### Migration #### Can I switch to Uptivo from another heart-rate system? Yes. Uptivo migrates clubs from legacy zone-based heart-rate systems with a zero-downtime guarantee. Your members keep training without interruption during the switch. #### Can Uptivo replace Myzone in my club? Yes, and the switch is handled for you: send us your Myzone (https://uptivo.fit/compare/myzone-alternative) export and Uptivo's team imports your entire member database with every registered wearable. Members walk in and their heart rate appears on screen as always. Members with Bluetooth LE or ANT+ belts, including the MZ-Switch, keep training with the device they already own. #### How is Uptivo different from Myzone? The business model. Myzone (https://uptivo.fit/compare/myzone-alternative) is built around its proprietary belt: every member needs one to participate. Uptivo is wearable-agnostic, so members train with any Bluetooth LE or ANT+ device they already own, from chest straps to smartwatches, and clubs are never locked into repurchasing hardware. #### How is Uptivo different from EGYM? EGYM (https://uptivo.fit/compare/egym-alternative) is an ecosystem anchored to its connected strength equipment, which means significant equipment investment. Uptivo is software-first: it runs on the wearables your members own and the screens your club already has, with no equipment purchase required to start. #### How is Uptivo different from Technogym Mywellness? Mywellness (https://uptivo.fit/compare/technogym-alternative) is designed around the Technogym equipment ecosystem. Uptivo is vendor-neutral: it works with any equipment floor, any compatible wearable, and connects to your existing tech stack through an open API (https://uptivo.fit/open-api). You choose your equipment supplier independently from your training platform. #### Why do clubs leave zone-based heart-rate systems? The most common reasons operators tell us: hardware lock-in that forces members to buy proprietary belts, per-belt economics that tax growth, and closed systems that don't connect to the rest of the club stack. Uptivo removes all three: any wearable, flat predictable pricing, open API (https://uptivo.fit/open-api). #### Do my members need new wearables after migrating? No. Uptivo is wearable-agnostic, so members keep the chest straps and devices they already use, as long as they broadcast over Bluetooth LE or ANT+. No repurchasing, no re-enrollment. #### Will my members notice the switch from our current heart-rate system? Members with compatible wearables keep training without interruption: same class flow, live zones on screen, and heart-rate zone colours that can be configured to match the system they know. The change they notice is what's added, like Nate, their personal AI coach. #### How long does a migration to Uptivo take? A typical single-club migration is completed in days, not months, and Uptivo guarantees zero downtime: your classes run on the old system until the moment the new one is live. #### What happens when members move around the club during training? Nothing, and that's the point. Multiple Uptivo Bridges form a mesh network: as members move through the facility, their wearable is picked up by the nearest Bridge automatically, with no handover gaps and no single-receiver bottleneck. One continuous session from the studio to the floor, proven at event scale with 200 concurrent athletes. #### What hardware runs Uptivo in the club? The Uptivo Bridge: a compact, fanless embedded IoT device running a dedicated Linux-based OS. No desktop operating system to administer, patch or secure on your training floor, designed for continuous, unattended operation. ### Bridge #### How many athletes can one Uptivo Bridge handle? Each screen driven by a Bridge displays up to 50 athletes live, with automatic page rotation beyond that. Reception is passive scanning with no pairing and no connection limit, and multi-Bridge meshes have run live events with thousands of concurrent athletes. #### Does the Uptivo Bridge need pairing with each wearable? No. Reception is passive broadcast scanning: there is no pairing procedure, no connection limit and no reconnection cycle. Members walk in and their heart rate appears, whether they wear a chest strap, a LightBand or a compatible smartwatch. #### Can the Bridge show workouts and heart-rate data at the same time? Yes. The Bridge has two independent HDMI outputs, up to 4K at 60 Hz, running simultaneously: one for live telemetry, one for workout content with exercise videos and synced timers, up to 12 videos per Bridge. #### Can I use Uptivo Bridge for circuit training? Yes. Each Bridge can be configured as an individual station within a circuit setup, displaying dedicated exercise videos and timers for that station, while heart-rate tracking continues across the whole floor. #### How large an area can Uptivo cover? As large as you need: Bridges form a mesh over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and each Bridge supports up to four external long-range ANT+ antennas, positionable up to 30 metres away. The same architecture has covered a full 400 m athletics track with double antenna coverage at every point. #### Does the Bridge work with gym equipment, not just wearables? Yes. Compatible fitness equipment such as indoor bikes and rowers connects to the Bridge and adds cadence, power and speed to each member's heart-rate picture. #### What if my club has multiple rooms? That's what the mesh is for. Multiple Bridges communicate over your local network, and members' wearables are picked up automatically by the nearest Bridge as they move: one continuous session across studios, floor and functional areas. ### Lightband #### What is the Uptivo LightBand? The LightBand is Uptivo's optical heart-rate wearable, designed in Italy: LED bands change colour with the member's training zone, matching the zone colours on club screens, so trainers and members get instant visual feedback on the floor. #### Is the Uptivo LightBand waterproof? Yes. The LightBand is IP68 water resistant, with up to 10 hours of continuous monitoring per charge and internal memory for data recovery, so no workout is lost even if the connection drops. #### How accurate is the Uptivo LightBand? Accuracy is plus or minus 2 bpm in quiet state, on every skin type. The LightBand broadcasts on Bluetooth LE and ANT+ simultaneously, doubling reception paths for reliable coverage anywhere in the club. #### Do members have to buy an Uptivo wearable? No, and that's the point: Uptivo works with any Bluetooth LE or ANT+ device members already own. The LightBand and Belt are options for clubs that want branded hardware with zone LEDs and extended range, not a requirement to participate. ### Dash #### What is Uptivo Dash? Uptivo Dash is the operator dashboard: members, bookings, subscriptions, payments, retention indicators and daily operations in one connected view, so you always know where your club stands. #### Can I manage bookings and payments with Uptivo? Yes. Dash handles class bookings, subscriptions and payments alongside training data, replacing separate tools with one platform, and the open API (https://uptivo.fit/open-api) connects it to the rest of your stack. #### Can Uptivo Dash help me spot members at risk of leaving? Yes. Because Uptivo sees both attendance and training activity, Dash surfaces engagement signals so your team can act on declining members before they cancel, which is where retention is actually won (https://uptivo.fit/blog/how-to-increase-gym-member-retention). #### Does Uptivo work for multi-site operators? Yes. Uptivo runs multi-site deployments up to enterprise scale, with centralized programming and per-club operations, currently powering operators with 150+ locations. ### Personal App #### Is the Uptivo app free? If you train in an Uptivo club, yes: the app is included with your membership, so you track every workout, in the club and outside, at no extra cost. In clubs with Uptivo AI Coaching you can also get NATE, your personal AI coach: each club decides how to offer it. Individual plans (Basic from €7.90/month, Premium from €18.90/month) are for people who train outside an Uptivo club. #### Can I use the Uptivo app outside my club? Yes. Your club membership includes the app everywhere: runs, rides, home workouts and gym sessions all end up in the same training diary, with your heart-rate zones and progress in one place. #### How much does the Uptivo app cost? For members of Uptivo clubs, the app is included with membership; in clubs with AI Coaching, each club decides how to offer NATE, the personal AI coach. For everyone else: Uptivo Basic is €7.90/month or €65.90/year (save 30%); Uptivo Premium with NATE is €18.90/month or €149.99/year (save 33%). EU pricing, VAT included. #### What's the difference between Uptivo Basic and Premium? Basic helps you track your training: personalized heart-rate zones (https://uptivo.fit/blog/heart-rate-training-zones-explained), full training diary, fitness tests and progress levels. Premium helps you improve it: everything in Basic plus NATE, an AI coach that tells you what went well, what to change, when to recover and what tomorrow should look like. #### Which wearables work with the Uptivo app? All major brands: Garmin (https://uptivo.fit/garmin), Apple Watch, Whoop, Myzone, Polar, Amazfit and any heart-rate sensor that broadcasts over Bluetooth Low Energy, including the belt you already use at your gym. No new hardware needed. #### Does Uptivo sync with Garmin Connect? Yes. Every workout recorded with Garmin Connect (https://uptivo.fit/garmin) syncs automatically to your Uptivo diary, and if your Garmin device supports it, you also see advanced metrics like power and cadence. #### What does the Uptivo app track? Every workout, saved forever in your training diary: heart-rate trends and graphs, calories, duration, GPS route, speed and altitude. Fitness Tests let you compare results over time and see whether your fitness is actually improving. #### What are Uptivo Performance Points (UPPs)? UPPs measure the quality of your training, not just the effort. While most fitness wearables reward showing up with points and colours, UPPs tell you how well you trained, and levels based on World Health Organization guidelines turn consistency into real motivation. #### How do I manage or cancel my Uptivo app subscription? Individual app plans are billed and managed directly by Apple or Google: you subscribe, change plan or cancel anytime from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, under their standard rules. No forms, no emails: the store you already trust handles it. ### Snap #### Can I run heart-rate training without installing hardware? Yes. Uptivo Snap runs live heart-rate training in a browser on any screen, smart TV or laptop, in under 60 seconds. No receivers, no installation, no technical setup. #### How fast can I start with Uptivo Snap? Under 60 seconds from login to live training. Open Snap in a browser on any screen, members join by scanning a QR code, and their heart-rate data appears live. #### Is there a free trial for Uptivo Snap? Yes. Uptivo Snap offers a 7-day free trial with no hardware to buy and no commitment, so you can test live heart-rate training in a real class before deciding. Start at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit). #### What do I need to run Uptivo Snap? A screen with a browser and an internet connection: a smart TV, a laptop with a TV, or a tablet. Members join by scanning a QR code with their phone and connecting the wearable they already own. Nothing to install, nothing to buy. #### Can I activate Uptivo Snap by myself? Yes. Start the 7-day free trial, then activate online with a credit card at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit) and be live in minutes: €59/month for up to 100 members, any wearable, no sales call and no contract negotiation. #### Can I cancel Uptivo Snap whenever I want? Yes. Snap is a monthly subscription with no lock-in: cancel anytime, by yourself, from your control panel, and the plan simply stops at the end of the current billing month. Starting again later takes minutes at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit). ### Nate #### What is Nate? Nate is Uptivo's AI coach. It gives every member adaptive training plans, real-time biometric analysis, post-session reports and chat-based support, so each member trains like they have a dedicated personal trainer. #### Can an AI coach replace a personal trainer? Nate doesn't replace trainers, it multiplies them. Typically only a small share of members can afford 1-to-1 PT; Nate gives personalized coaching (https://uptivo.fit/blog/ai-for-personal-trainers) to every member, while your trainers focus on the floor and premium sessions. #### What data does Nate use to coach members? Nate uses each member's heart-rate history, training sessions and goals to adapt plans and feedback in real time, turning the biometric data your club already collects into personalized coaching. ### Workouts #### Can I build my own workouts in Uptivo? Yes. You build structured, on-brand workouts with exercise videos and synced timers, and run them on club screens and in members' apps (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-personal), so programming stays consistent across every class, every room and every site. #### Do workouts sync between screens and the member app? Yes. Timers and workout content run in sync on club screens and in members' apps, so a member can follow the same programmed session in class or on their own. #### Does Uptivo support station-based training? Yes, natively. You build circuit workouts station by station, and each station gets its own screen content: dedicated exercise videos, timers and rotations, all synchronized across the floor. Members always see what to do at their station and when to move, without a trainer calling every switch. #### What is Time Switch? Time Switch lets classes start staggered, station by station, with zero downtime between sessions. Instead of waiting for a full class to end before the next begins, the new class starts at station 1 while the previous group is still working through the circuit, then station 2, and so on: a continuous flow of members through the floor. For the operator it means more sessions per hour on the same square metres; for members it means no waiting around for the class to start. #### Can two classes run on the floor at the same time? With Time Switch, yes: as the earlier group advances through the circuit, the next group enters behind it, station by station, each with its own synced videos and timers. The floor never empties and never jams, and heart-rate tracking follows every member individually across the overlap. ### Platform API #### Does Uptivo integrate with my existing software? Yes. Uptivo's open API connects member data, bookings and training activity to your existing stack, and works alongside the systems you already run instead of forcing a rip-and-replace. #### Who owns the training data collected by Uptivo? Each member owns their own training data. Members grant their assigned coach access to it for coaching purposes, and when a member leaves, that access ends automatically. Uptivo is GDPR-compliant by design: a consent-based model that protects members and keeps your club on the right side of privacy law. ### Demo #### How long is the Uptivo demo? 45 minutes. It's a live demo on real data: we look at your setup, your numbers and your goals, and show you exactly how Uptivo would work in your club. No slides marathon, no commitment. #### Do I need to prepare anything for the demo? No preparation needed. It helps to know your member count and current heart-rate setup, if any, so we can tailor the walkthrough to your club. #### Can I get a quote without talking to sales? Yes. Build your own configuration and get your price online in about 5 minutes at web.uptivo.fit/quote (https://web.uptivo.fit/quote): choose your modules, see the cost, no sales call required. If you'd rather see the platform first, the 45-minute live demo is always available. #### Can I try Uptivo before committing? Yes, two ways: book a 45-minute live demo on your club's data, or start a 7-day free trial of Uptivo Snap (https://uptivo.fit/uptivo-snap) at get-snap.uptivo.fit (https://get-snap.uptivo.fit) and run live heart-rate training in a real class today, with zero hardware. ### Boxing #### What are Uptivo Boxing Trackers? Uptivo Boxing Trackers are wrist sensors for fitboxe and combat classes: they count every left and right punch, measure speed and power, and send everything live to the club screens alongside heart rate. Learn more on the Boxing Trackers page. ### Heart-rate training for gyms #### What is heart-rate training for gyms? Heart-rate training for gyms shows each member how hard they are working, live, using zones calculated from their own maximum heart rate instead of a class average. With Uptivo, coaches see the same data for the whole room and can guide individuals during group or one-to-one sessions. #### How can heart-rate monitoring support gym member retention? Heart-rate monitoring supports gym member retention in two ways. It gives members visible proof that they are progressing, which is what keeps beginners going before physical results show up, and it gives the club early signals when a member’s training consistency starts to drop, weeks before a cancellation. #### Can members use their own wearable with Uptivo? Yes. Uptivo members can train with a Garmin, an Apple Watch, Whoop, Polar, Myzone or any standard BLE chest or arm strap, as well as with Uptivo sensors. Connecting a device they already own costs the member nothing: the club holds one flat license, with no per-member metering. #### Can heart-rate training be used for gamification, and does it improve retention? Yes, and it is the most common way clubs use it. Heart-rate training is what makes gamification work in a gym, because it turns effort into something countable: live intensity zones on the club screens, points for the effort each member puts in, streaks, challenges and friendly competition inside a class. With Uptivo, every monitored session earns Uptivo Performance Points, so a beginner and a competitive athlete compete on effort instead of fitness level. For retention the mechanism matters more than the game: members get visible progress in the weeks before physical results appear, which is exactly when most people quit, and a reason to book the next class. #### What happens after a monitored workout? After a monitored workout, Uptivo turns the session into a workout report, Uptivo Performance Points and a permanent entry in the member’s training history, so progress accumulates instead of restarting with every class. ### Gate #### Does Uptivo Gate work 24/7 when the club is unstaffed? Yes. Gate checks every access request automatically, in real time, against the rules you set: active membership, medical certificate, schedule, room permissions, membership level and any custom rule. If the rules are met, the relay opens the door or turnstile; if they are not, it stays closed. Every entry is logged, and when a request needs a human decision the reception receives a notification, so the club can run unstaffed hours without leaving the door unguarded. #### Do we need to replace our turnstiles? No. Gate commands the turnstiles, doors and gates you already have through an Ethernet relay on each access point. Where there is no physical barrier, the QR code alone works as a smart check-in point. You decide, door by door, whether access is controlled or simply recorded. #### What hardware does Gate need? The bridge your Uptivo club already runs on, plus one Ethernet relay for every door, turnstile or gate you want to control. The bridge is the same device that drives your screens, receives wearable data, plays video workouts and powers gamification; Gate is one more function of it. There are no dedicated access controllers and no dedicated readers to buy. #### Can Gate check the membership and the medical certificate at the door? Yes. Every access request is checked in real time against the policies you define, and a valid medical certificate can be one of them alongside an active membership, the access schedule, room permissions and the membership level. An expired certificate or a lapsed membership means the door does not open, without anyone at the desk having to intervene. #### Do members need a badge, a card or a separate app? No. Members use the Uptivo App they already train with: the QR code for access is inside it. There are no extra apps to install, no extra credentials to remember and no badges to print, hand out or replace when they get lost. #### Can we add access points inside the club, not just at the entrance? Yes. Gate isn’t limited to the main entrance. You can create access points for studios, the pool, the locker rooms or a premium area, each with its own rules about who can enter, when and under which conditions. Where there is a door, a relay commands it; where there isn’t, a QR code on the wall is enough. #### Is Gate worth it if we are not open 24/7? Yes, because the door is only part of what Gate does. During staffed hours it removes manual checks at the front desk, applies room and schedule rules automatically, and turns every check-in into attendance data: who comes, how often and when the club is busiest. That is the information you need to spot members who are drifting away before they cancel. #### What stops a member sharing their QR code or letting a friend in? The QR code is tied to the member account rather than printed once and handed over, so sharing it means sharing the account itself, and the entry history makes a shared account visible. Where a door or turnstile is controlled by a relay, it opens only on a valid check-in; where there is no barrier, the entry log shows who checked in and when. #### What if a member has no smartphone, or the battery is dead? A printed code works, and the reception can let someone in manually. The exceptions stay exceptions rather than becoming a second system. #### How long does installation take? Where the QR code alone is the access point there is nothing to mount, so a site is usually a matter of days rather than a building project. Where a door or turnstile is controlled, each access point needs one Ethernet relay on the club network, wired to the barrier you already have: no dedicated controllers and no reader cabling. The rules are set in the cloud. ### Uptivo Bridge (product page) #### Do I need a Bridge to use Uptivo? No. SNAP runs in a browser with members connecting through the Uptivo app, and many clubs never need more than that. The Bridge enters when the room does: multi-screen gamified floors, ANT+ chest straps, connected equipment, or large facilities where coverage has to be guaranteed wall to wall. #### Which devices does the Bridge receive? ANT+ wearables, Bluetooth Low Energy wearables and compatible fitness equipment such as indoor bikes and rowers, which add cadence, power and speed to the heart rate stream. Straps inherited from a previous system connect too, as long as they transmit on standard protocols. #### How many screens and athletes can it handle? Each Bridge drives two HDMI screens at once, up to 4K: one for the live heart rate display with up to 50 athletes per page, one for workout videos and timers. Larger rooms add Bridges, and the mesh keeps everything synchronized. #### What happens when members move between rooms? Nothing they notice. Bridges form a local mesh over Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and wearables hand over automatically to the nearest Bridge as people move through the facility, so data collection continues without dropouts or reconnections. #### How is it installed? It is a compact, fanless box: power, network and HDMI to your screens. Antenna extensions position the receivers where coverage needs them rather than where the box sits. Placement is defined with our team during setup, the same way we plan a migration. ### Uptivo Lightband and Belt-D (product page) #### Do members need Uptivo hardware to train with Uptivo? No. Uptivo works with any Bluetooth LE or ANT+ device members already own, from Apple Watch and Garmin to standard chest straps. The Lightband and the Belt-D are the options for clubs that want branded hardware with zone LEDs and dual transmission, and for members who walk in without a wearable, not a requirement to take part. #### When should a member choose the Belt-D instead? When maximum accuracy is the priority. A chest strap is the reference for heart rate measurement in workouts where the arms move hard, such as HIIT, rowing or spinning, and the Belt-D transmits on Bluetooth LE and ANT+ together, so it shows up on the Uptivo screens and works with phones, smartwatches and fitness apps. #### Do the Lightband and the Belt-D work outside the club? Yes. Both transmit on the standard protocols used by fitness apps and smartwatches, so members can run, ride or train at home with the same device. The LED zone colors and the internal memory of the Lightband work through the Uptivo app, available to the members of Uptivo clubs. #### Why not use any consumer wearable for the club screens? Consumer wearables are designed to talk to a phone a few centimeters away. Uptivo wearables are designed for telemetry: a powerful, long-range transmission built to reach the screens across a room full of people, where bodies absorb radio signals and weak transmitters drop out. And because Uptivo makes the wearable, the app, the screens and the Bridge, the integration is end to end, with nothing to pair, configure or maintain. Members who already own a watch still connect with it: the Uptivo wearable is the option that guarantees the reading in the hardest rooms. #### Are the Lightband and the Belt-D medical devices? No. Uptivo Lightband and Uptivo Belt-D are fitness and training devices: they measure heart rate to guide intensity, show training zones and record workouts. They are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, monitor or treat any health condition. Members with a heart condition should follow the advice of their doctor before training. ## Customer stories (https://uptivo.fit/case-studies) How clubs, studios and PT businesses use Uptivo, in their own numbers.
