UPTIVO GATE
Uptivo Gate turns any door, turnstile or room entrance into a QR code access point. It runs on the same cloud bridge that already drives your screens, wearables, video workouts and gamification, and an Ethernet relay on each access point commands the physical barrier.
Members open the Uptivo App, show their QR code and walk in. Every rule is checked in real time, day and night.

ONE BRIDGE FOR THE WHOLE CLUB
Every Uptivo club runs on a bridge: the device that drives the screens in the training rooms, receives the radio data from wearables, plays video workouts and powers gamification. Gate is one more job for that bridge. Add an Ethernet relay on each door, turnstile or gate, and the bridge opens it when the rules say yes. No dedicated controllers, no dedicated readers, and everything is managed in the cloud.

HOW MEMBERS CHECK IN
01 · OPEN THE UPTIVO APP
Members already use the Uptivo App to train. The same app carries their access credential, so there is nothing extra to download, register or carry.
02 · SHOW THE QR CODE
At the access point, members show the QR code in the app. No card to forget at home, no fob to lose, no badge to hand out at the front desk.
03 · GATE CHECKS AND OPENS
Gate checks every policy in real time. If access is allowed, the door or turnstile opens. If something needs attention, the reception is notified immediately. Gate is the club’s check-in system and its access control in one: every scan is a logged check-in, with or without a barrier.
TWO WAYS. SAME SIMPLICITY.
SMART CHECK-IN
Perfect when you don’t need physical barriers. Members scan the QR code at the access point: if access is allowed, they simply walk in. If something requires attention, the reception immediately receives a notification. No relay and no hardware at the door, just the QR code. Without a barrier, Gate records who checked in and when rather than physically blocking the door: where a door must stay shut, use Controlled Access.
How access without turnstiles works →
CONTROLLED ACCESS
Need a door or a turnstile to stay closed until the rules say otherwise? Gate commands it through an Ethernet relay and lets members in only when every policy is satisfied. Same software, same app, same QR experience, with or without turnstiles.
OPEN 24/7
Unstaffed hours are where an access system earns its keep. With Gate the check is automatic: a membership that expired at 11 pm is refused at 11:01 pm, the member booked for the 6 am class gets in, anyone outside their access schedule stays out. Every entry is logged, and the reception is notified when a request needs a human decision, so you can extend your opening hours without extending the payroll.
Every access request is checked in real time against the rules you set. No manual checks, no surprises.
YOUR RULES, AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED
ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
Access is granted only while the membership is active. When it lapses, the door stops opening, without anyone at the desk having to intervene.
Manage memberships in CRM →
VALID MEDICAL CERTIFICATE
Where a medical certificate or fitness clearance is required, Gate checks its validity at the door. An expired certificate means no entry until it is renewed.
ACCESS SCHEDULE
Define when each membership can enter: off-peak plans, early-morning access, weekend-only passes. Gate applies the schedule to the minute.
ROOM PERMISSIONS
Decide who can enter which room. Premium areas, studios and locker rooms open only to the members entitled to them.
MEMBERSHIP LEVEL
Tie access to the membership tier, so an upgrade unlocks new areas and time slots automatically.
CUSTOM CLUB RULES
Every club has its own rules. Gate can apply them as access conditions, so the door follows your policy and not the other way round.
TURNSTILES, KEY FOBS, CARDS OR QR
Most access control systems sold to gyms come as a dedicated controller plus a reader on every door, with fobs or cards for members, and typically cost several thousand per door once hardware and installation are in. Gate starts from what the club already has. Here is what changes for you and for your members.
Gate works with or without turnstiles: where there is a barrier, the relay commands it; where there isn’t, the QR code is the access point.
| Criterion | Dedicated access system | Key fobs and cards | Uptivo Gate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hardware to buy | Controller plus a reader on every door | A reader on every door plus a badge for every member | One Ethernet relay per access point, on the bridge you already have |
| Installation | Dedicated wiring and a specialist on site | Reader wiring, then badges to program and hand out | Relay on the network, rules set in the cloud |
| Lost or forgotten credential | New badge issued at the front desk | New badge issued at the front desk | Nothing to replace: the QR code is in the Uptivo App |
| Rooms and premium areas | A reader on every inside door | A reader on every inside door | A relay where there is a door, a QR code where there is not |
| Data produced | Entry log | Entry log | Entry log plus attendance, peak hours and frequency per member |
ACCESS ANYWHERE
Gate isn’t limited to the club entrance. Create access points anywhere in your facility and decide who can enter, when, and under which conditions: the functional training studio, the pool, the locker rooms, a premium area reserved for a specific membership. Where there is a door, the relay commands it. Where there isn’t, a QR code on the wall is enough.
All you need is a QR code.
MORE THAN ACCESS
Access control becomes club intelligence. Gate turns everyday check-ins into meaningful insights that help you understand and manage your club: how often each member actually comes, when the rooms are busiest, and who has quietly stopped showing up. Because Uptivo also records what members do once inside, attendance and training activity sit in the same member record.
RETENTION
SPOT THE MEMBERS WHO ARE DRIFTING AWAY BEFORE THEY CANCEL.
ONE APP. EVERY ACCESS.
Members already use the Uptivo App. The same app they use for training, bookings and results also gives them seamless access to your club. No extra apps, no extra credentials, no badge to hand out at the front desk.
Just scan and go.
Does Uptivo Gate work 24/7 when the club is unstaffed?
Yes. Gate checks every access request automatically, in real time, against the rules you set: active membership, medical certificate, schedule, room permissions, membership level and any custom rule. If the rules are met, the relay opens the door or turnstile; if they are not, it stays closed. Every entry is logged, and when a request needs a human decision the reception receives a notification, so the club can run unstaffed hours without leaving the door unguarded.
Do we need to replace our turnstiles?
No. Gate commands the turnstiles, doors and gates you already have through an Ethernet relay on each access point. Where there is no physical barrier, the QR code alone works as a smart check-in point. You decide, door by door, whether access is controlled or simply recorded.
What hardware does Gate need?
The bridge your Uptivo club already runs on, plus one Ethernet relay for every door, turnstile or gate you want to control. The bridge is the same device that drives your screens, receives wearable data, plays video workouts and powers gamification; Gate is one more function of it. There are no dedicated access controllers and no dedicated readers to buy.
Can Gate check the membership and the medical certificate at the door?
Yes. Every access request is checked in real time against the policies you define, and a valid medical certificate can be one of them alongside an active membership, the access schedule, room permissions and the membership level. An expired certificate or a lapsed membership means the door does not open, without anyone at the desk having to intervene.
Do members need a badge, a card or a separate app?
No. Members use the Uptivo App they already train with: the QR code for access is inside it. There are no extra apps to install, no extra credentials to remember and no badges to print, hand out or replace when they get lost.
Can we add access points inside the club, not just at the entrance?
Yes. Gate isn’t limited to the main entrance. You can create access points for studios, the pool, the locker rooms or a premium area, each with its own rules about who can enter, when and under which conditions. Where there is a door, a relay commands it; where there isn’t, a QR code on the wall is enough.
Is Gate worth it if we are not open 24/7?
Yes, because the door is only part of what Gate does. During staffed hours it removes manual checks at the front desk, applies room and schedule rules automatically, and turns every check-in into attendance data: who comes, how often and when the club is busiest. That is the information you need to spot members who are drifting away before they cancel.
What stops a member sharing their QR code or letting a friend in?
The QR code is tied to the member account rather than printed once and handed over, so sharing it means sharing the account itself, and the entry history makes a shared account visible. Where a door or turnstile is controlled by a relay, it opens only on a valid check-in; where there is no barrier, the entry log shows who checked in and when.
How long does installation take?
Where the QR code alone is the access point there is nothing to mount, so a site is usually a matter of days rather than a building project. Where a door or turnstile is controlled, each access point needs one Ethernet relay on the club network, wired to the barrier you already have: no dedicated controllers and no reader cabling. The rules are set in the cloud.
