UPTIVO now connects in both directions to HighLevel (GoHighLevel), a go-to platform for marketing agencies that work with gyms, and to the many CRMs that agencies resell under their own brand with HighLevel as the engine.
Membership status, attendance compared with the previous thirty days, levels and monthly points flow into HighLevel as tags and fields, while leads captured in HighLevel arrive in UPTIVO with a trial membership already attached, so nobody at the front desk retypes contact details.
The integration is included in the UPTIVO Open API license and needs no custom build.
What makes it worth an article is not the plumbing but the question it finally lets an owner answer: are the Instagram campaigns costing me $1,000 a month turning into free trials in UPTIVO, and are those trials turning into memberships?
Most gym funnels stop counting at the booked trial
A marketing CRM is very good at what happens before someone walks in. HighLevel's own website counts 179 million appointments booked through the platform, and in a gym that appointment is usually a trial session.
After that, the trail goes cold. Whether the person turned up, came back the following week or bought a membership lives in the club's own system, so campaign reports tend to celebrate cost per lead and cost per booked trial.
The follow-up after a trial can use the workout itself
The standard post-trial message is a template sent to everyone who booked. With training data in the CRM, the follow-up can carry what the person actually did.
One of the workflows the integration supports sends a WhatsApp message about an hour after the trial, with the session's heart rate, effort zones, calories and points, and a membership offer attached.
That is a more honest pitch than a discount code, because it shows the prospect evidence of their own effort while the session is still fresh.
Campaign ROI should be counted in memberships that last, not in leads
Once attendance flows back into HighLevel, a campaign can be judged on what happened after the click. The integration leaves each contact's original source attribution untouched, so the Instagram campaign that brought someone in is still on the record when their check-ins start to arrive.
Take two campaigns with round, purely illustrative numbers and the same $2,000 budget. The first brings 100 leads at $20 each and the second 50 leads at $40, so on cost per lead the first looks twice as good.
Follow them into the club, though, and the picture can flip. If the first produces twelve memberships and six members still training at day ninety, while the second produces twelve memberships and ten still training, the cost per retained member is about $333 for the first and $200 for the second.
That is the figure to compare with what a member is worth, meaning monthly dues multiplied by how long members actually stay, and tenure is exactly what training data adds.
Better leads start with a better audience
Training data can also improve the ads before anyone clicks. With UPTIVO's tags in HighLevel, a club or its agency can build a lookalike audience on Meta from the members who train three times a week, instead of from the whole contact list.
The same tags can exclude active members from acquisition campaigns, so the club stops paying to show a trial offer to people who already pay every month.
Automations that start from what a member just did
The integration earns its keep when a member does something worth answering, and three moments deserve a workflow from day one.
When a member reaches a new level, HighLevel can send a short note from their coach within the hour and remind the coach to mention it at the next class.
A level-up is also the best moment to ask for something: a Google review after an early level, a referral invite with a guest pass after a later one, or a personal training offer to the members climbing fastest, who are already the most invested.
When a member wins a challenge, the week of the win is when they are proudest of the club. A workflow can congratulate them, send a ready-to-share image for their stories with the club tagged, invite them to the next challenge and, if their membership ends within two months, attach a renewal offer that mentions the result.
When the churn-risk score in UPTIVO's DASH dashboard flags a member, the first step should be a person, not a coupon. HighLevel can create a call task for the coach who knows them, with the recent drop in attendance on the task, and if the call goes unanswered a WhatsApp from that coach can suggest a specific class at the member's usual time.
After a week of silence a manager can offer a pause instead of a discount. When attendance recovers, the flag clears and the sequence stops, and the club ends up with a log of which calls brought members back.
Simpler workflows fill the gaps around these three: a welcome that starts at the first check-in rather than at sign-up, a renewal offer two weeks before expiry, a nudge for members a few points short of the monthly goal and a win-back campaign for canceled memberships.
None of these messages has to be a template. HighLevel's Workflow AI, a GPT step inside workflows billed by use, can write each one from the member's own fields, so a level-up note mentions the new level, this month's points and how far the member is from the goal, and the coach can read it before it goes out.
A cap of one automated message per member per week keeps all of it from turning into noise, and a dedicated tag stops every campaign when a member leaves the club.
Before you switch it on
Bookings stay in UPTIVO, since HighLevel reacts to booking events without managing the class calendar, and each club maps to its own HighLevel location. Activation needs no API keys or code: the club installs UPTIVO from the HighLevel Marketplace or its UPTIVO profile and confirms its location.
Heart rate counts as health data under European privacy rules, so clubs in the EU should make sure members have explicitly consented before training data appears in marketing messages.
For clubs on a different CRM, the same open REST API with webhooks and its Zapier app connects UPTIVO to tools like HubSpot or Mailchimp, and the full list of what flows to HighLevel is on the GoHighLevel integration page.
Whichever CRM a club uses, the useful test is the same: if the marketing report cannot tell you how many of last quarter's leads are still training today, the report is measuring the wrong end of the funnel.
